YOUNG Police are renewing pleas for help today as investigations continue into an alleged attempt abduction in Grenfell last week.
According to police three young children were playing in the front yard of a Grenfell home around 7.30pm last Friday evening when a white car - believed to be a hatchback with a black stripe along the side and red ‘P’ plates - pulled up outside the home.
Police allege an unknown male attempted to speak with the children who, after fearing for their safety, ran inside and alerted their parents to the incident. The occupant is then believed to have driven off in a westerly direction.
Detectives from Young have described the man as being aged in his early to mid-20s with short black hair.
While investigations on that continue, police are also making inquiries into another incident in Grenfell where an unknown man grabbed hold of a nine-year-old girl’s shoulder as she stood on a bridge looking at a creek.
This incident occurred on Australia Day but was only reported to police last weekend. The offender has been described only as wearing a brown hat and long brown coat.
Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact Young detectives on 6382 8199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
