THE annual St John’s Book Sale was held on Friday and Saturday and co-ordinator, Tara O’Brien said it has been another big success.
“We had quite a rush on Friday morning, people were lining up at the doors for 20 minutes before the opening and that’s always good,” said Ms O’Brien.
“The cold weather probably kept them here a little longer than usual as well.
“We sold quite a lot of adult fiction on Friday morning, which is always the most popular and this year we had some books that only came out last year.
“Craft books were the next best seller on Friday morning, especially books on knitting and crochet and our children’s books sold well on Saturday,” said Ms O’Brien.
The St John’s Book Sale has been held for the last five years and Ms O’Brien said donations were slightly down this year, which was probably not surprising considering the events of the last six months, however Ms O’Brien said donations received this year were of a much better quality than last year.
