THE future for Bellhaven Special School remains bleak today and the Management Board has admitted it is likely the school will close its doors on July 20.
Board chairperson, Kerry Payne, said all the Board’s approaches to politicians from both sides of Parliament had come to nothing.
“We have had no positive outcome with the members of Parliament, which has now gone into its winter break,” said Mrs Payne.
“Stuart Freudenstein has written to people on our behalf, Katrina Hodgkinson has been working her tail off for us and Alby Schultz has also taken up our cause but they are both in opposition.
“The Department of Aging, Disability and Home Care refused us funding, so at the moment all we have left is hope,” said Mrs Payne.
