ON Saturday May 31, Bikers Australia Young branch held its second annual poker run raising $400 for the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.
An impressive 36 riders registered at the Young Hotel before leaving for Boorowa where they were joined by seven more at the Courthouse Hotel.
Don Luff from Bikers Australia Young Branch explained that the 43 riders then proceeded to Jugiong Motor Inn, taking the scenic route through Galong and McMahon's Reef enjoying the beautiful weather.
"If it isn't going to rain then it might as well be nice weather for riding," Mr Luff joked.
The riders then proceeded along the Harden road to Wallendbeen for lunch at the Wallendbeen Hotel.
"We played poker at each stop, having quite a lot of fun as well as raising money for the Salvos," Mr Luff said.
The procession then moved on to Wombat for the last card to be dealt before returning to the Australian Hotel for a great meal and more entertainment.
"We'd like to thank everyone who participated and gave so generously to the Red Shield Appeal," Mr Luff said.
"All our hosts along the route were fantastic, and a special mention should go to riders who travelled a long way to attend, some from as far away as Wollongong.
"The Boorowa guys were a great help as well and added good numbers and without all the locals, we wouldn't be able to raise so much for the appeal," Mr Luff added.
Bikers Australia will be having their AGM on June 20, with the annual Wombat Rally coming soon.
