BOOROWA was a category winner at the Tidy Towns Awards held in Tamworth over the weekend when the town took out the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water Wildlife Corridors and Habitats Conservation Award, Category B (population 351 to 1200 poeple).
Tidy Town Assessor, Dennis De Kantozow, said the fact that Boorowa is building bridges between urban environmentally concerned people and rural communities said it all.
“Over 30,000 trees have been planted and wildlife is now returning,” Mr De Kantozow said.
“The project has expanded local government and state government agency support even after nine years, when many such projects are winding down,” Mr De Kantozow said.
