Out in the schoolyard

07 Jul, 2006 06:55 PM
DRIVING up Campbell Street one could be mistaken for thinking 'Backyard Blitz' had hit Young High School.

The YHS senior area is being transformed to rival Carrington Park.

Dedicated students from all years have been helping Mr Ben Cooper, YHS's Landscape Coordinator, transform the Senior Area into a great place to relax and hang out. The front area of the school will display school pride to all who pass by.

There are new shrubs and borders, and woodchip around the base of plants making the area hardy for growth and lasting Australia's harsh summers.

The school thanks all the students who have helped Mr Cooper by giving their time and effort to shovelling, digging, planting, hoeing and working with the machinery to beautify the area.

Also, thanks to the P&C and families who have donated money to support this project becoming a reality.
