THE Wombat Social Group and Electrical Wholesale Services (EWS) have organised an auction to raise funds for Young’s self managed Renal Unit.
The Wombat Hotel is under new management and the publicans are keen to get to know the community - and what better way to start than with a fundraiser for a worthy cause.
The auction will be conducted by Peter McDonald under the number system and there are some great items up for grabs, including an esky, but it is no ordinary esky. It is in the shape of a wombat.
Other items up for auction will be a signed 2009 Melbourne Storm premiership guernsey along with St George Illawarra, Canberra Raiders and a West Tigers, South Sydney dart board, a West Tigers players framed picture, a tool box, fans, lights, swags and much much more.
EWS representative, Larry Logan said it is a great cause and should be a really good night and he encourages locals attend, especially with the free bus service organised and due to leave the Railway station between 5.45-6pm.
“We have had a great response from locals, hopefully Young will take advantage of the free bus,” Mr Logan said.
There will be a barbecue available and full use of eftpos facilities.
The message is simple.
“Come buy a wombat at wombat and help raise funds for the renal unit,” he said.
