AMBER Lawrence and Travis Collins will be performing at the Young Services Club tomorrow night in a two hour free show that will kick off at 8:30pm, and Amber said the show will be for all ages of the family.
Her new album ‘When It All Comes Down’ is currently on the shelves and has been nominated for three Golden Guitar Awards at the upcoming Tamworth Music Festival, which is due to be held in January, 2010.
This album is titled from its eighth track of the same name, a song that was written by Amber about her father’s battle with leukaemia, it is a thought provoking, emotional and highly personal insight into a performer who values family and friends above all other.
The ninth track ‘The Good Men’ was written about her man and, apart from being a very refreshing piece of work, further underpins her commitment to family.
Amber Lawrence has matured a great deal as a performer and it shows throughout her work, in her lyrics and not the least in her live performances.
Young is unashamedly one of her favourite places, especially at this time of the year.
“I remember going to Young for the first time with Travis four years ago and getting stuck into the cherries then,” said Amber.
“Someone brought in a big box and we were eating them backstage during the performance!
“I really enjoy Young and am definitely looking forward to coming there again.
“I think I have grown as a performer, I think as you mature you become better as a songwriter, maybe I’m gaining more confidence.
“I know Travis is looking forward to performing in Young, he’s busy at the moment writing for his next album, so the break might do him good, and I know this is going to be a really good, fun night with a lot of music you can sing and dance to,” said Amber.
Amber said the show will be a blend of old and new, there are some classics plus songs that will suit all age groups.
“I guess we’re a bit of a cocktail,” said Amber.
“It’s a bit of rockin’ and it’s a bit of roll – but also a whole lot of country loving,” said Amber.
