In spite of the rain, one of the two matches drawn for that day managed to get played.
Unfortunately in the Seniors event, the two teams from Young led by Sheila Rogerson and June Brown were beaten by Harden and Cootamundra Country Club.
In the Fours Open event Elsie Hines team from Young was narrowly defeated by Stockinbingal but the Young team consisting of Judith Mulligan, Heather Bailey, Pat Rogerson and Marlene Shea managed a win against Grenfell and will now play Stockinbingal in the semi final.
Unfortunately incessant rain kept the competition from being continued on Wednesday so it remains to be seen when the competition will continue.
There were no social bowls played on Tuesday because of the rain.
At jackpot bowls last Thursday six triples teams enjoyed much nicer weather.
Ann Gardner, Pat Rogerson and Marlene Shea won 19/14 against Mary Frost, Honor Stollery and June Brown; Heather Bailey, Wilma Moors-Galvan and Dorothy Shepherd had a win of 20/14 against Margaret Glasheen, Sheila Rogerson and Judy Watson; Zita Farrell, Dawn Sanderson and Therese Ruhl won 28/9 against Zita Farrell (double lead), Madge Styles and Nancy Tomlinson. It was good to see the jackpot won by Dorothy Shepherd’s team.
Ann Gardner, Ann Marshall and June Brown enjoyed the day on Saturday at the Binalong Bowling Club’s President’s day.
The draw for the Women’s Club Major Singles is now on the noticeboard. The competition will commence next Tuesday 6 March. All the very best to those players competing.
Until next time, enjoy your bowling.
