Racing returns to Alfred Oval this Saturday night with the first race in the 10-event program starting at 7.30pm.
The club has suffered slightly with a shortage of nominations for some events, due to the lack of racing dates over the last month, however, there are three heats of a 347 metre maiden race and three heats of a 520 metre fifth grade race.
The finals for these races will be held at the next meeting on February 18.
Highlight of tonight’s meeting will be race 8, the Young Ezy Bins free for all over 347 metres and will see the clash between kennel mates Weona Banquet and First Banquet along with Osti’s Great and the return to racing of Only Bill.
The club will again have the service of full TAB and SKY CHANNEL facilities on course as well as the bookmaker for punters to do battle with.
Full bar and canteen facilities will be available.
Last Friday night saw local trainers Greg Prest and Keith Windus make a strong appearance in Cowra against what appeared to be some tough competition, winning races 1 and 5.
Greg Prest trained Miss Etta (1) - pictured above - battled it out with Mandurama Jack (2) in the McLeans Brick Laying Stakes (race 1) over 453m.
Miss Etta managed to pip Mandurama Jack by a neck at the post in a time of 26.59s.
Race 5, the fifth grade Blue Paws Stakes saw Regal Warrior, trained by Keith Windus, come home strong ahead of Little Pretender and Titchawanta Lady, stopping the clock at 30.59s over 524 metres.
GOOD RESULT: Young greyhound trainer Keith Windus with Regal Warrior, winner of the Blue Paws Stakes 5th grade race in Cowra on Friday night.
