THE Australian Motocross Championships in Young this weekend, definitely will be proceeding!
This weekend, over 400 of Australia’s best motocross riders will compete in the final round of the Australian AmCross Series in Young.
The event is being hosted by the Young Motorcycle Club and will be held over two days with Juniors on the Saturday and Seniors on the Sunday.
The Australian AmCross series is regarded as one of the highlights of the Australian Racing Calendar and will attract the best riders from every state in Australia.
The final podium positions in many race divisions are still up for grabs so the racing will be heated.
Some of the best MX riders from across the state will be participating.
Australian and State Champions will be racing for titles this weekend and Young have a number of excellent riders battling out for placings.
The racing will be exciting and with a bit of wet ground the track will be in excellent condition.
Due to the rain we have had over the past couple of weeks entry in and out may be slippery and if you have a four wheel drive or access to one it would probably be wise to bring that along. However with no rain forecast for the week the grounds should dry up pretty well.
Young MCC again managed to secure the rights to hold this meeting and it is expected that over 2000 people will converge in Young over the two day event.
The Young township benefits greatly from the tourism aspect and locals should get behind the club and come out and watch this great event.
The meeting will be held on a track designed by the committee of the club and it is on the property “Milgadara” Moppity Road, Young (26kms along the Moppity Road).
Full facilities including camping will be available. The racing will provide spectators with the thrills and spills of MX racing at the highest level, which will start with practice around 9am and racing around 9.30am. For a gold coin donation at the gate it must be the cheapest form of racing entertainment on the planet.
Nominations are still open, however, any nominations this week will incur a $20.00 late fee.
