WITH summer sports in full swing, Quality Sporting Services in Orange has arranged sports coaching camps for swimming and cricket in the January school holidays. Both camps are open to boys and girls in the age group of 9 to 14 years and there are full residential places available or participants can attend on a daily basis.
Dual Olympian Anna Windsor will head up the swimming coaching panel and she will be supported by well known coaches John Wilkins and Anthony Chapman. Windsor represented Australia in Atlanta 1976 and Sydney 2000 as well as winning Commonwealth Games Gold medals in Canada and Malaysia.
The swimming camp will concentrate on stroke correction and techniques for all strokes as well as starts and turns, goal setting, proper stretching and lectures on diet and nutrition and will finish up with a mini carnival.
Cricket coaching will be covered by highly accredited coaches such as Greg Griffith, Trent Colley, Damian Toohey and St.George 1st Grade all rounder Trent Copeland. The three day camp will cover the fundamentals of batting, bowling, fielding, catching, throwing, running between wickets and a 50 over match on turf pitches.
Both camps will use the Kinross Wolaroi accommodation and sporting facilities and the residential cost of each camp is $315 or $260 for non residential with lunch, fruit and drinks all provided for live-out participants.
