The Adviser of the Year Award recognises the unique achievements of the leading advisers in the financial planning industry.
It rewards the qualities of leadership, advocacy and innovation which drive success at an individual and professional level that leads to a positive public profile for the industry overall.
The Female Excellence in Advice Award recognises women in financial advice positions who are making a significant contribution to their profession, their community and their clients.
The six finalists for the Adviser of the Year Award were announced last week with the winner being announced at the gala ball of the AFA’s annual conference on the Gold Coast in October.
Last week the AFA also announced that Justine is one of the 12 semi finalists for the Female Excellence in Advice Award.
The judging process has been rigorous for the Adviser of the Year Award.
AFA CEO Brad Fox said the six finalists had undergone a rigorous 360-degree assessment process.
“The finalists are judged on education, experience and contribution to the industry,” he said.
Assessment criteria includes the use of technology and processes in the adviser’s business, their client feedback processes, complaints handling procedures, business cashflow management and business planning techniques.
Amidst the excitement surrounding the awards and judging processes there has been another exciting project that has been in development for over twelve months.
In 2012, Justine was approached by Deborah Hutton to write a 10 week money management program, designed for woman over 45.
The program ‘Balance by Deborah Hutton’ is designed to educate and empower women through providing them with coaches in aspects central to wellbeing such as finance, spirituality, health and relationships.
As the finance coach, Justine will be working alongside high profile women including Deborah Hutton, Professor Kerryn Phelps, Jane Fleming and Olivia Newton John.
Balance by Deborah Hutton currently has 60,000 followers and a Facebook Friends network of in excess of two million people.
The Money Management program launches in October at www.balancebydeborahhutton.com.au.
Being nominated and then announced as finalists for these awards has been a rewarding process for the team at Back to Back as part of the judging process was a survey of their clients.
“It has been humbling to have so much support for our team.
“It feels like we must be doing a good job when we have clients ringing and emailing to find out how the judging process is going; this has captured their attention,” Justine said.
For small businesses in country towns, it is sometimes difficult to envision that they may compete with large businesses operating in major cities around the country, she said
At the moment Justine Back of Back to Back Financial Planners is realising that you can.
We wish her luck!
