The Young Amateur Swimming Club (YASC) would like to announce that their regular training sessions will commence on Tuesday, October 15, and their first club night will be Friday, October 18.
We would like to thank all our sponsors for their support of our club over the years by advertising in our club booklet.
It is through your valuable support that we are able to assist the children to achieve their best in swimming.
The YASC will no longer be producing a booklet. Instead all information will be available on our website http://www.young. nswswimming.com.au
For the 2013-2014 season we will be providing the opportunity for sponsors to advertise on our home page.
This will be the page where weekly updates will appear and from where swimmers and their families can access all other information such as weekly swimming events and rosters.
If you would like to be a sponsor please email youngswimmingclub@bigpond.com for more information.
Thank you to those sponsors who have already come on board Kay McDonald, IGA, Powderly’s Pumping & Irrigation, Young Aquatic Centre, Classique Imagery, Gordon Garling Moffitt, Ausure Insurance Brokers, Framework – Workplace Injury Management (formerly Hill St Group), The Young Hotel and South West Slopes Credit Union.
The executive committee for the 2013-2014 season is:
President - John (Truckie) Hayes, vice president 1 - Carole Clark, vice president 2 - John Coulter, secretary - Alleena Vitnell, treasurer - Angus Metcalfe, registrar - Tami Stuart, club race secretaries - Tracey Clark and Mary Dodd, carnival race secretary - Tony Gahan assisted by David Williams and publicity officer - Catherine Hall.
Coaches this season will include John Hayes, Peter Ward, Kylie Rutter, Deana McEvoy, Tami Stuart and Kris Pointer.
Club patrons are Ian McAlister, Nancy McGregor and Diana Boyd.
If you have any questions or concerns please speak to one of our committee members.
Registration dates and fees: As all registrations are to be done online there will be no actual registration days.
All registered swimmers from last year would have received an email containing your username and password which you will need when you log onto the NSW Swimming website to register for the season.
If you are registering for the first time you need to log onto www.nswswimming.com.au and follow the link on the member portal.
If you experience any problems or need help, please contact our registrar Tami Stuart on 0439 956 700.
The fees for this season are $110 per swimmer and $20 per non-swimmer.
The swimming member fee includes the option to attend squad training up to five times a week.
If you are a swimming club member who enjoys Friday night club swims but you do not wish to train, there is an option to pay $70 for the season.
This fee includes your registration with NSW swimming and still enables you to compete in club swims and at local/area carnivals.
Coaching: Details of squads and training sessions can be found on our website.
Click on the link to training information.
For the 2013/1014 swimming season training sessions will be 6am to 8am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and 3.30pm and 7pm Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Afternoon sessions have been reduced to two days per week but the times have been extended so the swimmers are still receiving the same amount of time in the water as they were last year.
Coaches are asking that families consider purchasing their own training kits this year (kickboard, paddles, flippers).
These will be available at the pool swim shop once the pool opens.
