Organisers are calling on any nurses who trained at the hospital in Young to send in their RSVPs as soon as they can for the May 24-25 event.
In the lead-up to the momentous occasion, organisers are relying on the word of mouth to get around.
One organiser, Joy Cameron, said that 200 invitations have been sent out with a slow response so far.
“The nurses are spread all over Australia now but most of the ones we haven’t heard back from are locals and from Canberra,” she said.
The event will include nurses and their partners attending an afternoon tea at the Parish Centre from 2.30pm for a meet and greet session.
Come 6pm that night, guests will gather for a Mass at St Mary’s Church, followed by a dinner at the Young Services Club at 7pm.
To wrap-up the weekend a recovery brunch is planned for 10am the next morning - Sunday, May 25 - at BlueStill Café.
Joy said anyone who worked at the Sacred Heart Mercy Hospital, including nursing, domestic and office staff, are also very welcome to attend the afternoon tea.
Those interested in attending the meet and greet afternoon tea at the Parish Centre are asked to notify Joy on 6382 2762 or 0419 822 473, or Ann Symons on 6382 6334, as soon as possible for catering purposes.
Replies close on March 7.
