Daisy turned 106 last Sunday, celebrated with an afternoon tea with her friend Beryl Callaway.
She received flowers from her son and many cards from nieces and nephews from as far as Western Australia to Sydney.
Believe it or not, but Daisy is not the eldest resident at Southern Cross Village.
She is in fact three months younger than Kathleen Wilson who turned 106 on October 30.
Daisy was quite reserved when we asked her what her secret was, however her dear friend Beryl said, “I will tell you one thing – Daisy has been at the Southern Cross Village for almost 40 years and she is very well looked after here.”
What makes Daisy and Beryl’s friendship very unique is that Daisy taught Beryl’s husband when she was a teacher at Kingsvale School.
