A piece of Bendick Murrell history was sold on April 14 when Holloways Stock and Property of Young sold the public school and residence that was established in 1883.
Some 29 people -some of whom attended the school - were there to watch and participate in the auction procedings.
There were six registered bidders and although it was passed in under the reserve price, a sale was later negotiated at the reserve price.
The sale attracted considerable interest before, during and after the auction.
The sale amount remains undisclosed.
