TWO of Young’s rising junior rugby league players Tyrell McCullagh and Kade Foreman tried out for the Combined Catholic Colleges State Selection Trials in Wagga on Thursday.
This was the second round of trials for the boys who earlier this year participated in a trial clash in Forbes.
Both boys are students at Hennessy Catholic College and are vying for the opportunity to be selected for the Australian School Boys Rugby League team who will play at a tournament in Sydney later this year.
For Foreman this is the second consecutive year that he has been selected after playing in the Australian Schoolboys Rugby League under 15s Championships in Perth in July last year.
Selection for these teams is given after a rigorous set of trials games against some of the state’s most elite league players.
The boys now play in the Championships at St Marys in Sydney on May 25 and May 26.
