An agricultural research business that started in Young 12 years ago has merged with another similar company from Western Australia, expanding it to now service the nation.

Agritech and Kalyx Agriculture last week merged to create a national independent crop research company now trading as Kalyx Australia Pty Ltd.
Agritech and Kalyx Agriculture both have extensive experience in reporting procedures, and expertise in laboratory testing and field studies to GLP standards and OGTR compliance.
Company director and Young local Sue McGregor said the company was conducting field trials for national and multinational chemical and fertiliser companies in all major cropping zones in Australia.
“The merger brings together two of Australia’s leading research organisations to create a national company that specialises in providing field trials and testing services to the agricultural research and development sector,” she said.
After starting in Young, Agritech expanded to Narrabri in 2007, Wagga in 2008 and Naracoorte, South Australia in 2011, and employed 24 people before the merger.
Kalyx Australia Pty Ltd will now employ 40 people.
Current directors are Peter Hamblin, Sue McGregor, Denis Harvey (Agritech), and Ashley Bacon, Peter Burgess and Barrett Sinclair (Kalyx Agriculture) will form the new Kalyx board of directors.
