Michael is a broadcaster with ABC radio at Orange, hosting the Saturday morning session.
The show is an electric mix of interviews, sport, comedy, gardening and talkback glued together with Michael’s irreverent and dry sense of humour.
His day job is as foundation principal of Catherine McAuley School in Orange and he is the author of four sporting books on cricket and the various football codes.
Michael has been guest speaker and compere at many functions on a local, state and national level and maintains his links to our area through his cousin, the other Michael Croke who runs a music store here in Young.
Their grandfather, also Michael Croke, first came to Tubbul in 1913, later establishing several shops in the then thriving village.
Greg Broderick will provide his style of humour with some bush poetry.
He’s been involved with the inception of the Bush Poetry aspect of the Cherry Festival for the past 11 years and his past life as an auctioneer has helped Greg hone his skills in this field.
Greg will deliver ‘Late For School’, a poem by Boorowa identity Robert Corkhill.
The CanAssist major raffle for the year will be drawn at the lunch, with one of the prizes donated by local farmer and artist, Steve Cavanagh of ‘Cav Art’.
His original work-Rusty- is fashioned on his own red dog who patiently sat for the creation.
Other donated prizes include a garden shed, Café de Jour and IGA vouchers and Ballinaclash wines.
Those wishing to enjoy the two course meal and entertainment and help CanAssist raise funds for local cancer patients and their families have until 31st July to purchase their $30 entry tickets from WF Gilberts at Young.
