Four beautiful young women and their partners were presented to the official party - Cr John McGregor, long term resident of Murringo Gordon Dowling and President of the Murringo Community Association Heather Ritchie.
The debutantes were Madison Smith partnered by her brother Zac, Grace Galvin partnered by Stuart James, Alana Thomas partnered by Alex Rotzler and Nicole Donges partnered by Ryan Thomas.
Ms Ritchie said ninety-five people attended the ball and everyone, including the Murringo community itself, were amazed at the transformation of their local hall into a fairy land of candles and fairy-lights.
Music was provided by Brett Standford, a DJ from Boorowa and the newly formed band from Young ‘The Revamps’.
Dance cards were full and this continued well into the evening.
Ninety year old Gordon Dowling and his wife Judy were found on the dance floor late into the night, as well as Kevin and Fay Gruber.
Judy and Fay even had a go at dancing to the Nutbush!
“Hosting a Deb Ball was an idea to celebrate the transition of some of our young people to their adult lives and also a great opportunity to brighten up winter by bringing the community together for some fun and good company,” Ms Ritchie said.
“We are lucky to have so many people who were willing to give their time to the planning and organising that made this such a successful event,” she said.
“We would like to thank The Revamps for making their time available free of charge and also to Robert Donges and Nouvelle Beauty Salon for our raffle prizes.”
Ms Ritchie also thanked Paul Neville for volunteering to be their official photographer and The Complete Garden for the loan of decorations.
It truly was a gorgeous, entertaining and wonderful evening in the little village of Murringo, she said.
