Richmond playmaker Brett Deledio is in doubt for Saturday's match against the Western Bulldogs but coach Damien Hardwick will give him every chance to prove his fitness. Hardwick would not say what the injury was but revealed he played hurt in last Thursday night's narrow win over Carlton.

"Lids played hurt, he was really impressive for a guy I didn't think was going to finish the game," he said.

"He is a wait and see. We will see how he trains today if he trains at all. He's an important player so we'll give him until the last minute to see how he goes."

Pressed on the injury, Hardwick was jovial but evasive. "It's just something. Sore knee? Sore ankle?"

But he backed Deledio's powers of recovery to get him up for the game at Etihad Stadium.
