On March 20, after a visit to St Vincent’s Hospital in Canberra, her daughter Lisa was told her leukemia was cured, having been in remission for five years.
Marie wanted to thank all at St Vincent’s in Canberra, especially Lisa’s doctor, Dr James Derazzio.
Marie was as busy as ever getting involved in this year’s World’s Greatest Shave, organising morning teas as well as getting her hair coloured bright red.
She raised $317.20 for the Leukemia foundation, meaning her total fundraising efforts for the past five years came to more than $4000.
She would like to express her thanks for all the local support she has received.
