The decision to extend the deadline to April 30 was made yesterday morning following a meeting between the business awards organiser Dean Kinlyside and Young’s Chamber of Commerce.
“We understand that with school holidays, Easter and the short weeks, people needed more time to put in nominations so this will give even more people the opportunity to take part,” Dean said.
He said nominations were trickling in but he hoped to see as many retail outlets and businesses involved as possible.
“At the end of the day this is a positive event for the Young business community that’s all about getting together for a good time.”
