Essential Energy crews responded to an unplanned supply interruption affecting power supplies to customers in parts of Young's CBD Sunday morning.

The power interruption occurred around 7.50am and affected electricity supply to approximately 1100 premises.
Regional manager Southern, Steven Ilitch, said a fault occurred on the high voltage network in Allanan Street requiring urgent repairs.
“Essential Energy’s network systems registered the fault and our safety protection equipment operated immediately to isolate supply to the area,” Steven said.
“Crews were dispatched from Young Depot and were able to restore supply to the majority of customers within two hours and all customers by 11.15am.”
Steven reminded customers that they can call Essential Energy’s 24-hour supply interruptions hotline on 13 20 80 for information or updates about unscheduled power supply interruptions.
“We would like to apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced by the supply interruption and thank customers for their patience,” Steven said.
