Ms Hodgkinson and Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor, along with a gathering of about 30 councillors, council staff, contractors, Young Golf Club representatives and local press attended the official opening and site tour on Friday morning.
Before formalities began, NSW Water Solutions principal design engineer, Guy Boncardo, showed guests around the facility including the inlet works, IDEA (intermittent decant and extended aeration) tanks, control and switch room, balance pond, the reuse scheme and UV treatment works.
Ms Hodgkinson, Mr Taylor and Mayor Stuart Freudenstein officially unveiled the plaque before guests were treated to a morning tea.
The open day concluded with tours of the plant for members of the public, held between 1pm and 4pm, attracting more than 10 small groups in the first two hours.
