The game kicks off at 8am, meaning soccer in Young has to be delayed for two hours.
There will be no training for the Under 7s that day and the earliest games will start at 11am. There is no soccer this weekend due to the long weekend so please take care and enjoy.
Soccer continues to thrive in Young with some amazing games played last Saturday.
In the Young Services Club Under 17s Auto Pro Young and Grenfell Spray Safe & Save remain the two unbeaten teams after AutoPro beat Boorowa Ram & Stallion 1-0 with a late goal to Jordan Osmond sealing the deal.
In the Under 14s AutoPro Young and Back2Back are both undefeated, while in a crazy Under 12s competition, Steadfast Homes have been very convincing and remain the only undefeated team piling on 10 goals against Grenfell last Saturday.
In the McDonald Signs & Trophies Under 10s, McCafe have won three out of three to be the competition favourites after their 2-nil victory on Saturday with goals to Sam Dunn and Rhys Lacey.
Thank you to all coaches and managers who turned up to the general meeting on Tuesday night and earned a bonus point for your team.
If you have the first game it is your responsibility to set up the nets and if you have the last game you have to pull them down. Many hands make light work.
It is compulsory for all goalkeepers to wear headgear and have it strapped up at all times.
A reminder to any player who wishes to play in our carnival teams this year that we are only accepting nominations for teams via email through an address on our website.
Once on this page click on the Youth League coordinator email link. You will need to provide your child’s name(s), their date of birth, a contact phone number and email address.
Please note that preference will be given to those players who commit to play in all carnivals which Young Lions Soccer Club participates in. In the event that there are more nominations for a team than can be accepted, then selection try outs will take place.
We are also attempting to initiate an annual representative one-day fixture proposed as the “Lachlan Cup”, which will be run against surrounding district soccer clubs. If it does get up and running, we expect that our carnival teams would represent Young at this annual event.
Please see any of the committee members for further details.
Nominations for carnival teams will only be accepted up until June 14.
The full draw for the season is now available on the website www.younglionssoccerclub.com.au
Young Lions Soccer club will be running the community raffle at the Young Services Club tomorrow evening from 6.30pm. We encourage all players and families to visit the club to support our major sponsor, buy some raffles tickets and you could win a great prize. All proceeds from the raffle are donated to the soccer club.
Keep kicking and go the Socceroos!
