The club will be holding a reunion for three premier and runner-up sides from 1974, 1984 and 2004.
These sides include First and Reserve Grade premiers and the Under 18s runners-up from 1974, the 1984 First Grade and Under 16s premiers and the Reserves and Under 18s runners-up, and the 2004 Reserve Grade premiers.
The reunion will take place on August 23 at the home game against Tumut.
More details of the weekend will be revealed later on.
“At this stage we are trying to contact as many past players as possible to inform them of the weekend,” organiser Geoff Hill said.
In 1974 Young was represented in three grades on grand final day with the First Grade side coached by Tony Slacksmith, defeating Cootamundra 30-5.
The Reserve Grade side also won their grand final, defeating Temora 12-8, while the Under 18s were defeated by Turvey Park 29-7.
In 1984 Young had four teams in the grand final for the second year in a row - something which has not been repeated by any other sides since.
Both the First Grade and Under 16s won their games, and the Reserve Grade and Under 18s being defeated.
The scores that day were Under 16s defeated Kangaroos 18-14, the Under 18s lost to Junee 26-20, the Reserves were defeated 22-14 while the First Grade side - coached by Chris Slater - reversed the result from 1983 to defeat Gundagai 32-12.
In 2004 the Reserve Grade side was the only team from Young to make the grand final, defeating Tumut by 25-12 to complete an undefeated season.
Some of the players from those years were Tony Slacksmith, Jim Bonus, Timmy Hall, Garry Nicolls, Trevor Major, Keith Carmody, Max Gilbert (coach Reserve Grade), John Hobson, Barry Martens, Terry Perrin.
The Under 18s were coached by Terry Casey and Young’s future captain-coach Chris Slater was captain of that side who lost to Turvey Park that had Steve Mortimer, Peter Mortimer and Greg Bretnall in their side.
The 1984 First Grade side had the Slater brothers - Chris, Mick and Rodney, Mick and John Scott, Max Wall, Paul Vitnell and Greg Prest.
“They had revenge on the Gundagai side who defeated Young in the 1983 grand final,” Hill said.
Some of the players for the 2004 side coached by Rick Dunshea were Garry Lucas, Andrew McIllhatton, Dozer Anderson, Marc Owen, and Mick Sutherland.
