With the 2012/13 Young District cricket season fast approaching, the association has scheduled a three man golfing ambrose to unofficially kick start the season.
On Sunday, August 26 the association will be hosting the three man ambrose at Young Golf Club, with the cost being $25 per player, including a barbecue lunch.
Teams can now nominate at the Young Golf Club by contacting Phil Cartwright at the pro shop and booking a tee off time, but all interested players need to be aware there are minimal spots left so with the date fast approaching you really need to get in to secure spots for the event.
The association will be supplying prizes for the top three teams on the day, and each team that takes part in the event will be asked to nominate one of the local cricket sides.
Once all entries are confirmed, the local cricket team with the most nominations from teams entering the golf day will receive subsidised team registration fees for the upcoming season, so there is a wonderful incentive available for local cricket teams to enter as many teams in the golf day as possible.
Players wanting to be involved in the ambrose do not need to be members of the golf club, drinks will be on sale on the day.
The association is anticipating as many teams as possible for the ambrose and hopes to make it a good start on the golf course that will be reflective of a positive 2012/13 cricket season ahead at both the local and representative levels.
