Monsignor Hennessy was the founder of Hennessy Catholic College, but contributed much more to Young including a church, schools, and the Mercy Hospital that were all built under his vision.
So last week the staff and students of Hennessy came together to celebrate Mr Hennessy, as well as fundraising for their trip to Cambodia.
There was plenty on during the day to keep everyone entertained, including dancing, egg-and-spoon and three-legged races.
The activities were carried out in the school’s pastoral teams, that according to principal Dr Webster was supported by some competitive teachers.
“It’s been fabulous,” Dr Webster said.
“We started with a mass which for us is how we gather as a community, and community is important to us.”
