Three bales of wool stolen from a Boorowa property were retrieved in Young by police this week.
The bales were reportedly stolen from a shearing shed on the property on Tuesday.
After following several lines of enquiry, detectives from Cootamundra Rural Crime attended an address in Willawong Street Young at around 3pm the same day.
There they arrested a 37-year-old male from Young and a 21-year-old male from Gundagai for the offence.
Both males were given conditional bail and released to attend Cootamundra Local Court at a date to be set.
The three bales of stolen wool, AAAM Merino wool worth around $6000, were recovered and seized by police.
Brazen daytime theft
POLICE are hoping members of the public can help their investigation into a brazen theft in Young on Wednesday.
According to Acting Sergeant Michael Woods of Cootamundra Local Area Command, thieves gained entry to a Prospect Street residence and stole several items while the occupant was working on his vehicle in the driveway.
The thieves took a brown leather wallet, a canvas bag containing prescription medication and a glass jug.
The incident occurred between 3pm and 6pm.
