Native Botanical and the Local Land Services (formerly the Department of Agriculture) building on Lynch Street were both targeted by vandals who smashed their windows.
Stephanie Cooke from Native Botanical said she was thankful for the response of police and local businesses after discovering the damage.
“Everyone just really pulled together,” she said.
No entry was gained to either premises and nothing was stolen.
In a separate incident, at least 14 local businesses discovered a vandal had engraved a tag reading “chucka” on their shop windows.
Lauren Peek from Framaglass Young said the vandalism could cost each business up to $2000 to repair for each window affected.
Police were investigating the incident on Monday morning, walking the street and talking to business owners.
They said the incident occurred between 11pm Saturday and 3am Sunday.
Young Police Inspector Ashley Holmes said police have a suspect in the matter, but are sourcing CCTV footage from businesses.
Police said The Mill Tavern also had its cameras damaged over the weekend.
