A keen handful of local bowling enthusiasts headed to the Information Centre on Lovell Street on Thursday, July 17 where they were greeted by the team from AAT Kings and their lawn bowls green in the form of a luxury bus.
Having stripped the interior of the bus – removing almost all of the seats and replacing it with a state-of-the art lawn bowls green – the newly decked coach provided the atmosphere for a fun-filled morning.
After a six week period of touring Australia, the mobile indoor lawn bowls green will return to Sydney in late August where it will attempt a Guinness World Record for the “longest marathon playing indoor bowls” that currently sits at 40 hours. A record they hope to conquer by eight hours.
