There was an error in the town comp draw last weekend that saw us play week two of the round robin. This week we will play Round 1 of the round robin to rectify the error. Please mention this to other members you see to help alleviate any confusion that may arise.

In the second game the Broncos went up against the Eels. For the Broncos Marcus Ashton, Kalen DalMolin, Quade Bloor, Drew Edwards make some fantastic runs. Jack Woods, Charlie Moore, Braxton Anderson, Billy Lamb and Shaun McAlister where fantastic in defence.

For the Eels what an exciting game! The passing was far better and tackling was great. Improved performances from Tyler McRaye, Noah Khdor, Cayless and Hayden Richens. Mark Hills was very strong and Hardy Glover made some try saving tackles.

In the Under 9s the Warriors took on Manly. For Manly there was great defence, runs and tries. Great defence by Riley Pullen, John Kidd, Levi Summerfield, Sam Steed, Charlie Hunter and Mitchell Keith. Good runs by Rhys Carnley, Jack Donges, Jack Nicholls, Nic Bishop and Brody Smith.

In the Under 11s the Knights took on the Bulldogs. For the Knights this was a good, hard game. Max Kirkwood, Shaun Hambrook, Jesse Simpson, Jordan Wilder and Lachlan Pratt all made some good yards. Will Steed, Jonah Mugdridge, Thomas Staff, Campbell Cummins and Cameron Martin made some big hits.

For the Roosters it was the Harvey McGregor show, supported in attack by Matt Noakes and Declan Cashel in defence. Harvey scored all four tries for the roosters with power and fitness.
It was a wonderful comeback from the boys who had a kick after the final siren to keep their finals hopes alive and the ever reliable Declan stepped up to the challenge to secure a 24-all draw with a very enthusiastic opposition.
Jack McIllhatton and Abe Forbutt worked really hard all game and Zayden Khodr ran hard as ever to dent the Tigers line. Brodie Apps was the conductor in the engine room and never stopped all game, his defence in the middle was awesome.
With Harvey missing for this week’s game, the boys are going to have to step up but hopefully we may get superstar DJ Smith back a week early from injury to fill this massive hole. Fingers crossed.

Young’s Under 8s played a tough game against Turvey Park last weekend.
Turvey Park were a big, fast side and in winning, showed the Cherrypickers that we need to all work together and tackle hard every play to win games. I know these great boys will keep trying hard and play hard next weekend.
Corben Bloor was man of the match and has been looking dangerous every time he runs the ball. Marcus Ashtons tackling was great once he warmed up. He loves the rough stuff most weeks and like Jack Apps, never stops chasing all over the park.
We welcomed a new player, Charlie Hunter to the team last week and he looks to be a very talented addition to our group. Along with Riley Pullen, these new players have added plenty to our team and as well as being tough players, they are great blokes.
The Corbetts Tyre Service Under 10s side racked up a convincing 34-0 win over a Wagga side that never gave up.
Halfback Lochie Pratt added another four tries to his already impressive season tally, with Brock Sing getting a double and Clay Sing also crossing for a four pointer. Only three goals were kicked, with Lochie, Brock and speed machine Corie Lucas getting them, which now puts Corie well ahead of his Dads career total at only nine years old.
Once again the Under 9 players were highly involved with the win, with Josh Noakes, Sam Graziani, Charlie Croker, Billy Corcoran and Corie all playing well. Our forwards really paved the way for the win with Brodie Apps, Dallas Dwyer and Joey Anderson all making heaps of yards with every run.
Locke Croker was awesome with his little darts in around the ruck showing plenty of speed and Abe Forbutt showed how important he is to the side with his vision from dummy half. Fullback Jack McIllhatton ran the ball back strongly from the back on kick returns and showed his toughness, trying to run over the opposition instead of around. A great team effort.
The Under 15s Cherrypickers suffered their second defeat in as many weeks, going down to the Turvey Park Lions 16-10. It was a intense game and the wet ground made ball handling and quick play the balls challenging.
Blake Bailey and Kye Tiedemann crossed for tries and Pat Smith landed one conversion. Chris Oconnors defence and Kye Tiedemanns attack deserve mention.
