Police were called to a Blackett Avenue address at about 1.25am Tuesday in response to reports of a smashed glass door.
The victim told police someone had accused him of calling police to complain about loud music before smashing the glass panels around his front door.
Police went to his neighbour’s residence and spoke with a woman who had blood all over her knuckles.
Police said the woman, who appeared very intoxicated, admitted to smashing the glass because she believed her neighbour had called the police.
The woman allegedly attempted to run from police, before being handcuffed and taken to the police vehicle.
As police tried to place the woman in the vehicle, her 28-year-old daughter positioned herself between police and her mother to stop them.
Police said the woman was moved away on two occasions but she proceeded to slap a police officer in the face several times, leaving a small scratch on the officer’s cheek.
The 28-year-old was handcuffed and placed in the rear of the police vehicle with her mother.
The women will appear at Young Local Court on a later date facing charges of assault, resist/hinder officer, assault police and malicious damage.
