The boys - Lachlan Cooper, Michael Cram and Isaac Hines who play for the Donges Supa IGA Lachlan Lions in the western NSW Youth League - joined a number of players in Orange to contest the competition.
The Kanga Cup is the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere, held annually in the July school holidays.
The Kanga Cup is in its 23rd year of operation with over 230 teams of 3700 participants from Australia and overseas who meet in Canberra for a week of football, culture, fun and friendship like no other.
Teams that have participated in the kanga cup are from Australia, United States of America, England, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Georgia, South Africa, South Korea, China, Taipei, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, East Timor, Fiji and New Zealand.
The first day saw the team take out to wins against the international football school 4-0, and the Pendle Hill Tigers 2-1.
Day two the boys had an overwhelming win against Maccabi Hakoah 10-1, followed by day three that saw two more wins resulting in a 5-nil match against Burgmann Anglican School and a 6-nil victory against Monaro Dragons.
The semi finals were contested on day four that saw the boys take a 4-1 win over Bargmann.
The grand final was held the following day and unfortunately the team lost 3-1 to the international football school.
The boys enjoyed their experience are hoping they can contest the Kanga cup again in coming years.
