In the Under 9s the Rabbits went up against Manly. For Manly John Kidd was great in attack and defence. Good defence by Sam Steed with some big hits. Good runs by Jack Donges, Jack Nicholls, Reece Carney and Nic Bishop. Good passing by Mitchell Keith and Riley Pullen. John Kidd scored the only try for Manly. Riley Pullen was man of the match.

For the Storm this was a great game with all the players trying really hard. Riley Powderly and Max Jones led the way, and Riley Powderly scored the only try for the Storm and converted his own try. Man of the match for the Storm went to Riley Powderly.
In the Under 11s first game the Roosters took on the Knights. Matt Noakes was awesome in easily the sides best game of the year, scoring three tries and setting up a fourth as well as kicking a goal for a personal 14-point hall.
It was great to see the return of DJ from a broken arm and he celebrated his return with a four-pointer. Declan Cashel was unbelievable in defence with Zayden also putting on some good hits. Brodie Apps, Jack McIllhatton and Abe were playing “Mr Tough Guy” in the middle, not giving up. With Harvey missing, the boys are looking for a big finish to the season.
In the second game the Bulldogs went up against the Tigers. This was a close game with lots of exciting plays. The Bulldogs clawed their way home in the end by a try. Well done to all players!
Please remember there are no inter town games this week due to the Junee carnival. We wish all players the best of luck, play hard and show heart!
CorbEtts Tyre Service Under 10 Cherrypickers travelled to Cootamundra on Saturday, which saw a battle between the third and fourth on the ladder.
With a few positional changes to the side, Young got off to their best start of the season with five eighth Jack McIllhatton opening the scoring after chasing through a clever kick from half back Lochie Pratt who converted the try.
Young 6-0.
The game went from end to end with great defence from Coota making it hard for Young to get off their line.
Some great runs from Brodie Apps, Dallas Dwyer and Josh Noakes eventually broke the ‘Dogs line and allowed Brock Sing to skirt around the defence to score out wide and convert his try, 12-0.
Just before half time Lochie Pratt again laid on another try with a sneaky last tackle option for Dallas Dwyer to score and with Clay Sing converting, giving Young an 18-0 half time lead.
The arm wrestle continued in the second half, but Young’s defence was outstanding with Sam Graziani, Billy Corcoran and Nick Carroll all tackling the big boys really well.
After a great kick chase game from the ‘Pickers, led by Corie Lucas, Clay Sing put the game out of Coota’s reach with Jack McIllhatton converting to put up by 24-0.
Locke Croker may have found a new home at fullback, having an outstanding game and causing huge headache for the Coota defence. Our two little blokes Abe Forbutt and Charlie Croker were once again solid in the middle, giving great service to our forwards.
With Young Under 10s not going to Junee this week they will enjoy a well earned week off. Great work boys.
A good tough game of footy was played in the Under 11s rep with the 28-0 scoreline no reflection on the game. There was brutal defence on display and some excellent attacking rugby league.
The forwards - M Prest, B Ferguson, W Steed, J Douglas, H McGregor, P Sellars and J Muggridge - keep charging the ball up with great purpose, paving the way for some backline movement.
Tries went to K Langfield, S Hambrook, J Simpson, W Steed, and P Sellars. Four goals were converted by M Prest, P Sellars, D Cashell, and K Langfield.
It was a really good team effort with M Noakes getting player of the match while C Corcoran and S Hambrook playing well. The boys are now looking forward to a fun day at the Junee carnival tomorrow
Since the start of July when the Under 15 Cherrypickers defeated the premiership leaders Wagga Kangaroos at Wagga, they have fallen into a form slump losing their third game in as many weeks to the Tumut Blues 18-6.
Travis Mcgrath crossed for a try in the first half and was converted by Pat Smith. That was the last time the Cherrypickers troubled the scorer in what was a disappointing final outcome.
Braigon Forde and Harry Dunn were among Young’s better players.
