Toomua said he was excited by the Wallabies' Eden Park mission on Saturday, turning his attention to rugby success just days after his engagement to dual international Ellyse Perry.
The ACT Brumbies playmaker said the Wallabies could learn from their mistakes in the opening 12-12 Bledisloe Cup draw last week and unlock the back line's attacking weapons in the second match.
A host of Wallabies have never beaten the All Blacks and Australia hasn't won a game at Eden Park since 1986.
But after announcing his engagement to cricket and soccer star Perry on Wednesday night, Toomua turned his attention to making rugby history. The pair prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.
"We're professionals ... I haven't even thought of any distractions," Toomua said before flying to New Zealand.
"We had the chance to win the game last week and we didn't, there are no rules that say we can't win against the All Blacks.
"They've got an impressive statistic at Eden Park, but we like to back ourselves. We've got a fair bit to improve on from last week, but it would be nice to get one over them just to reaffirm the things we're doing well."
Toomua, 24, has played 14 Tests but is still searching for his first win against the All Blacks.
But Toomua pointed to the strong depth in Australian rugby as one of the main reasons the Wallabies are poised to end their Eden Park drought.
Seven Wallabies have never played a Test at Eden Park, but Toomua, Nic White, Scott Fardy and Sam Carter beat the Auckland Blues at the same venue last year.
"They're human. We respect what they do, it's built on character, work ethic and a great spirit," Toomua said.
"But we've got to back ourselves, we've got a great system and the depth in Australian rugby is the most exciting thing.
"Doing well against New Zealand teams in Super Rugby is great, but it only gets you to the starting blocks. The job's only half done."
Toomua is forging a combination with fly-half Kurtley Beale as they attempt to make the most of a back line that includes Israel Folau and Adam Ashley-Cooper.
Toomua said his partnership with Beale felt "natural" in its first Test against New Zealand last week.
But Toomua said they would have to "learn on the run" to get ahead of the All Blacks after failing to deliver the knockout blow in the first game.
"The All Blacks will shine a light on any mistakes in our game, so we have to learn quickly," Toomua said.
"Last year against the All Blacks, we had five guys playing their first Test and this time we had none. We've been through things together and we'll go through more ... it can only help with experience."
Folau warned the Wallabies to expect a harder and faster All Blacks.
He brushed off suggestions from All Blacks coach Steve Hansen✓ that the draw in last week's Bledisloe Cup opener was the best the Wallabies could muster. Folau said both sides would come out firing in the rematch.
"There's always room for improvement ... and likewise for them, they're going to come out a lot harder," he said.
"We're expecting a pretty physical game and, hopefully, the weather is dry so we can play a bit of rugby."
