The 22-year-old is hosting a special movie screening of Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie at the Southern Cross Cinema to raise money for the Mercy Care Centre.
Jessica is the third generation in her family to work at the local care facility.
She said she chose Mercy Care because she’d love to make the stay for those who come to the centre, or who visit, easier and more enjoyable.
“I’d love to make their stay more comfortable, we have a lot of young kids visit and I’d like to buy books for them to read and just general equipment,” Jessica said.
Jessica said she was excited about the start to her fundraising efforts as part of her cherry queen entrant requirements.
“It’s (tomorrow night) going to be great,” she said.
Doors will open at 7.30pm for an 8.30pm start.
Cost is $20 per person and includes a light supper prior to the movie.
There will also be a lucky door prize and raffle tickets available for purchase.
Tickets are available at the Mercy Care Centre reception, Sports Power Young and the front door on the night.
