The local radio presenter plans to take the ice bucket challenge to a whole new level, after announcing this week he was looking for 100 people to pay $100 to throw 100 ice buckets over his head.
By Wednesday (day three) he had secured 67 buckets and $6700.
Yesterday the tally hit 73.
Wes admitted yesterday he was getting nervous about the day.
“It’s 100 ice buckets! It’s dumb!” He said.
“If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be getting the attention it is… but it’s to raise awareness.”
All the action - thanks to the help of the Young Rural Fire Brigade who will fill the buckets - will take place out the front of the Young Visitor Information Centre at 12.30pm on Saturday, September 6.
It’s not too late to support Wes, visit his Facebook page ‘Wes’s Fundraising Events’, like it and inbox him with your name, details and how many buckets you’d like to buy.
