In the Under 10s, McCafe prevailed keeping their unbeaten record as they beat a very determined Mitton Bros from Grenfell 3-1.
Congratulations to coach Scott Lacey and player of the match Adam Galvin.
The Under 12s Grand Final was played between Harvey Norman and Café De Jour.
Conditions were superb, (maybe a slight wind) for a 9am kick off as the spectators crowded the sideline to get prime spots.
Both these teams were in fine form coming into this match and this was sure to be a beauty.
The game started at a frantic pace as both teams displayed fine skills testing each other out looking for any weakness in the opposition team.
Mohammad Tradie and Lachlan Reynolds were awesome in the backs repelling many raids.
This strong defence enabled Liam Stuart and Bailey Williams to weave their magic out wide on one of there many counter attacks.
The first goal was created by the ever elusive Benny Bonsembiante with his dazzling footwork, a feature all year, after beating a couple of defenders he very unselfishly set up his team mate Liam Wymer to score the opening goal much to the delight of the Harvey Norman crowd.
The game went from end to end with Café De Jour applying plenty of pressure especially with there corners but goalkeeper Will Cameron was superb and continually put the ball back over the halfway line.
Jess Dreverman was kept busy, involved in everything but just as Harvey Norman seemed to gain the ascendancy Riley Anderson from Café weaved his magic, slicing through Harvey Norman to calmly score there first goal to even things up.
The score was 1-all at half time.
With a quick break Harvey Norman were straight back in the game with one of their best stepping up, Anna Dowling.
With her unbelievable fitness and courage she was untouchable, playing a faultless game. This combined with her awesome passing game enabled Harvey Norman to apply heaps of pressure.
This pressure enabled captain Ethan Fluke to come into his own as he led his team around the field, where his superb decision making kept the opposition guessing.
Harvey Norman had stepped it up and it was another brilliant pass by Bailey Williams that got Liam Wymer his second for the final to break the deadlock and give Harvey Norman a 2-1 lead.
The game was still in the balance but every raid by Café or any half chance was taken down by Tyler Hurcum or Camila Felix-Vonarx who were both absolutely outstanding, and have been all year.
Their ability to read a game is of the highest standard and with this ability Harvey Norman won 2-1 in a great Grand Final.
Player of the match deservedly went to Anna Dowling but Jonathon Hosken is to be congratulated for some spectacular goalkeeper saves for Café.
Ethan Fluke was named most valuable player and Camila Felix-Vonarx received the Coaches Award for Harvey Norman.
We would like to thank Harvey Norman for their sponsorship, and McDonalds for their wonderful awards.
A big thanks also to referee David Brouwer.
In the Under 14s Back2Back and Job Centre Australia could not be separated after normal time.
Another 10 minutes each way still couldn’t separate the teams with Job Centre Australia eventually defeating Back2Back in a penalty shoot out after both teams used seven kickers.
Congratulations to coach Steve Carroll and Kai O’Rourke was named player of the final.
And last but not least the Under 17 final was a cracker contested between Auto Pro Young and Grenfell Spray Safe & Save.
Auto Pro Young were victorious as they came from behind late in the second half to lock up the scores 1-all at full time.
Iggy Bonsembiante than scored an unbelievable goal in extra time to secure a remarkable victory.
Congratulations to coaches Duncan Cameron and Callum Barber and Iggy earned himself player of the final.
