This year the school entered a Stage 2 and Stage 3 team in the Young Basketball Association local competition.
Mr Collins noted that his Stage 2 team bowed out in semi-finals after being standout improvers throughout the season.
The Stage 3 team played an exciting draw in the grand final to finish off an outstanding first season.
School principal Kel Smerdon said Mr Collins has also recently represented his school and state as the manager of the undefeated NSW PSSA girls basketball team.
“While I love to win as much as anyone, what has been the most rewarding part of our recent basketball program has been giving students the opportunity to develop teamwork, physical fitness and self esteem that will ensure they have the capacity to engage in positive peer group activity as they grow and develop,” Kel said.
Mr Collins on the other hand looks forward to some nice court-side tickets as he watches one of our Young North basketballers in the NBA one day!
