Two hundred people enjoyed mixing with Catriona and her mother Heather, both regarded as ‘adopted locals’.
The lunch raised about $2000 and from the sound of laughter and ‘selfies’ with the guest of honour-a memorable occasion.
The Tubbul Campdraft Ladies Clinic was the next event which we provided morning tea for in late August.
Pam Hart and her team do a great job in organising the weekend of fun mixed with some ‘schoolwork on horseback’.
Bribbaree Showground looked a picture and the 50 ladies at the clinic eagerly tucked into the variety of sandwiches and slices made by our members.
Master chef, look out.
Planning is currently underway for our ‘Garden Wander’ to be held around Bendick Murrell on Sunday, October 19.
The historic ‘Dananbilla’ and two gardens in Bendick will be open.
More details in a later edition of The Young Witness.
The Young District Anglers Association also donated $1000 to the branch, while the Empire Hotel Fundraising Club - who recently held a men’s lunch fundraiser - gave us $3140.
The need for our help continues as the AGM of the local branch showed we had assisted about 75 cancer patients with $50,000 over the past 12 months.
Executive for the next year is president Gail Hanigan, secretary is Kaylene Windsor and treasurer is Pene Nuthall.
We welcome new members to join us and fundraise to help cancer patients and their families in Young and Boorowa Shires.
