Police said the blaze ignited in a bin outside South West Regional Library on Lynch Street.
A person driving by spotted the fire at about 10pm and used a personal extinguisher to put it out.
A 24-year-old man allegedly headbutted another man outside a pub on Saturday night.
Police said the man was outside the Commercial Hotel at about 10pm when he turned to the victim and headbutted him.
They said he turned to the victim and said “woman basher”.
He will face Young Local Court on October 21 charged with assault.
Trespassers broke into the Young Aquatic Centre about 4.20am Sunday.
Police said they possibly stole some confectionary, but were disturbed when an alarm sounded.
