Keen swimmers lingered at the front gates of the town pool at 10am on Saturday morning, eagerly awaiting the gates to open.
“Everyone was keen to get in the water, and are glad they can get back into their swimming routine,” pool manager Alleena Vitnell said.
Pool manager Paul Vitnell and his team had spent the weeks leading up to the opening ensuring the facility was in tip top condition, from getting the water crystal clear and the temperature comfortable, to cleaning the grounds from top to bottom.
Regular locals swimmers who had been travelling to Cootamundra several times a week were pleased to be back in their home-town pool once again.
“We couldn’t have gotten a better day - last year it was freezing - so it’s a great start to the season,” co-manager Alleena said.
The team at the Aquatic Centre is excited for the season to come, with Paul predicting it to be a hot, dry summer, making for perfect pool weather.
