To be run over the 2480m journey, the C4 and better class race has continued, over many years, to attract some of the best pacers racing in country NSW. Nominations for the meeting close next Tuesday, November 25 at 9.30am.
Trainers are also reminded that the program will carry $6000 per race with three-year-old fillies and three-year-old colt and geldings races featured as well as most other classes and a C4/C6 over 2100 metres for those runners balloted out of the feature race.
The Cherry Festival Cup itself has been a major part of the racing calender.
Over the past 10 years we have seen enormous interest, some great races and close finishes in one of the feature races of the trotting season.
Last year’s race was sponsored by Success Stud together with proprietors John, Mary and Jackie Gibson and attracted a strong field together with some of the best drivers in NSW.
The race produced a thrilling finish with leading Bathurst trainer Steve Turnbull taking out the trifecta.
Driven the perfect race by Amanda Turnbull, the Grey Jet Laag gelding I’m Blue Double Dee proved too strong for Ardle Mcardle driven by Mitch Turnbull with Steve Turnbull grabbing the minor prize with Desirable Guy, the winner returning a smart winning mile rate of 2.00.4 for the 2480m event.
