The Year 9 Young High School student (pictured) is among six locals to be selected for the Southern Inland Rugby Union (SIRU) Junior Talent Development squad that consists of 16 players from around the Riverina.
Davis has played rugby union for four years, three of those with the Young Yabbies, and this year represented SIRU in the Under 15s squad.
In a series of unfortunate events Davis broke his wrist in June, and come September - only two days after the Yabbie’s semi-final - he broke his leg.
The break was significant and required surgery.
But determined to make a comeback, and with a month of intense physio, Davis was ready to get back in the boots.
“We waited six weeks and the doctors said five weeks later I could play touch, and I did... I played on the school state team and a couple of days after that we had the [talent squad] trials,” he said.
Davis hopes the selection gives him the opportunity to be scouted for a representative team.
He will attend eight development sessions as part of the junior talent squad which will commence next week in Wagga.

BEN DAVIS: He performed well in the Under 15s representative side throughout the year and seemed to have a pretty good work ethic.
