This time the volunteer group is calling on Young’s residents to clean up their yards and take advantage of the free open tip day this Sunday, November 30.
Tidy Towns has dubbed the day as “Young’s rubbish round-up”.
The free entry was organised to allow locals to have an annual clean-up and take any solid waste they have lying around their house and yards to the tip for free.
The committee is excited about this initiative and would like locals to take full advantage of it.
According to Young Tidy Towns president Keith Duran, this is a great chance for residents to clean up their yards and get rid of any unwanted rubbish that tends to build up.
“With the Cherry Festival just around the corner, the clean up could not come at a better time and it also allows people to get their homes bushfire safe by discarding items that have built up over the year,” Keith said.
“The aim of the day is for residents to clean up any solid waste, such as furniture, wood, cement, bricks, mattresses, household goods, etc, and have the opportunity to discard of this rubbish at the tip for free.”
Tidy Towns members will be on hand to direct residents to the correct part of the tip on the day to discard the rubbish.
Green waste and general household rubbish will not be accepted as part of this scheme.
Young’s rubbish round-up is scheduled at the Red Hill Tip from 10am to 3pm.
Anyone requiring further details is asked to call Matthew Carlin on 6380 1223.
The Young Tidy Towns Committee would like to thank Young Shire Council for making this project possible.
