The Young Golf Club had a near record field for the 2014 Young Cherry Festival Veteran’s Week of Golf.  Visitors flooded the town last week to take part in the annual event at the Young Golf Club, with 194 players from 59 clubs represented. Full story:&nbsp;Near record numbers.

DONE FOR THE DAY: Ron Flynn from Young finished his round early on the last day of the Young Golf Club's Veteran's Week of Golf.

RARING TO GO: Lynne Rapley of Sawtell and Chris Keevil of Young had their cart all geared up and ready to roll.

MATES: Plenty of friendships are made every year among local and visiting players who descend on the Young Golf Course for the week in November, including between Robert "Bob the golfer" Pemble from Tahmoor, Peter Doherty of Young, Fred Batty from The Grange and Paul Mendyral from Russell Vale.

PREPARED: Michael Bungey from Canberra was plenty prepared for his week of golf in Young.

SEEING DOUBLE! And it looks like Terry Collis, also from Canberra, was too. He is pictured with Michael Bungey of Canberra.

PRACTICE: Denis Smith from Grenfell got in a few practice putts before he hit the greens. It's his first time attending the Young Golf Club's Veteran's Week of Golf and said it's been a fantastic week. "The course is in great condition and the company has been great, and the golf's been..." He paused and laughed.

PUTT: Max Glanville from Cromer, Sydney, loved his time in Young, playing golf for a week.

SWING: Golf has no age restriction and Peter Naylor of Richmond took full advantage of that in Young last week.

FOCUS: Dave London of Erowal Bay in action during the Veterans Golf Week in Young.

GIRL POWER: Marilyn London of Erowal Bay showed the boys, girls could play too.

WIVES: Many wives accompanied their husbands to play in the week-long competition for veterans at the Young Golf Club, including Lyn Naylor of Richmond.

TEAMING UP: John and Annette Leck of Kurrajong Heights joined Shirley and Ken Bullock of Howard, Queensland to playing the Veteran's Week of Golf in Young.

LINE-UP: Ian Smith of Nowra lines up his shot.

FRIENDS: They said they call themselves the Van Smiths! Mates Sonja Van Hoof and Ian Smith, both of Nowra, head off to the next tee. 

VISITORS: Among the many who made their way inland from the south coast were Sue Hunter and Marg Jennings, both of Nowra.

SKILL: Greg “Lefty” Jennings of Nowra shows his fellow veterans how it’s done one-handed.

GOOD FORM: Preparing for a smooth, strong hit was Tony Hunter from Nowra.

RETURN: Making their fourth return to the Young Golf Club's Veteran's Week of Golf this year were Vivien and Ross Jones of Newcastle.

BROTHERS: What better way for two brothers to bond than for a week-long game of golf in Young. Brothers Roddy Blake from Gayndah, Queensland and Denis Blake from Wakehurst, Sydney make their way south and west for the Veteran's Week of Golf for the first time.
