The organisation hosted a barbecue at the Southern Cross Cinema complex on Friday, deciding to tie the event in with the National Cherry Festival and the festival art exhibition upstairs in Studio One.
They were also making donuts and slushies, and had information stands and free screenings of the Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) and an LFE slideshow.
Organisers estimated between 50 and 100 people dropped by between 10am and 2pm.
“It’s been a really fun day, the participants have had a great time,” LFE finance executive Tracey Laybutt said.
“It’s showcasing what LFE do and celebrating International Disability Day. We thought we’d tie it in with the festival with so many people around. It worked out well with the exhibition upstairs.
“It’s getting clients out in the community and raising awareness… people aren’t aware of how involved in the community LFE is.”
Tracey added they had also taken part in the cherry festival parade the following day.
